Some people say that a legitimate function of schools, perhaps the major one, is to train people to maintain our system of government and our way of life.  Others say that the individual has the right to believe, say, and do whatever he or she wants.  What are your thoughts on this issue.  Enjoy.

On the radio this morning a commentator made the point that acquarium fish are limited in their growth by the size of their tank.  Of course, the commentator was making an analogy for people to apply to their lives.  So, the question is whether to or how to expand the size of your tank so that you can grow.  What defines the boundaries of your tank?  How are you trying to expand your tank?  What does this analogy mean to you?

I am anxious to read your thoughts on this issue.  Enjoy.  Slivercat

Think about two sayings or adages:

     1.  Knowledge is power.

     2.  A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Consider the following questions.  Then, write your response.

What does each adage mean?  What reasoning or evidence might there be for each adage.   Do you agree with them?  Why or why not?  Is one adage more important than the other?  Why?  Do the adages need to be used together?  What does your experience tell you about the adages?

Enjoy.

Some unknown person said, “The two hardest things to handle in life are failure and success.”

Do you agree or disagree and why?  How do you define success?  How do you define failure?

Please make at least one comment over the next 10 school days.

 Enjoy.
